DIY Superfood Snack Board

Who doesn’t love a good snack board? We definitely do, especially when it’s packed with superfoods! We’re giving you not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 new recipes that you’re going to want to include on your snack board. Wow your guests with these dips, spreads and snacks - and surprise them with how many superfoods were packed into them!

 

This sauce is perfect as a spread on bread or crackers and delicious as a dip with veggies, chips, grilled vegetables - or literally anything else!

Golden Cashew Queso

Ingredients:

  • 1 Bag of our raw cashews, soaked in boiling water for a minimum of 30 mins
  • ½ cup of nutritional yeast
  • ⅓ cup water
  • 2 tbsp flaxseed cooking oil
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp chipotle powder
  • ½ - 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Sprinkle of black pepper
  • Pink salt to taste

Method:

  1. Drain your cashews and add them to a high speed blender along with all of the other ingredients, except for the water.
  2. Slowly add the water as everything becomes more incorporated - you’ll need to stop  and scrape down the sides of the blender every so often (but trust us, it’s worth it!)
  3. Adjust salt and spices to your desired liking.
  4. To serve hot, microwave or heat on the stovetop. Equally delicious served cold!

Pesto is one of those sauces that tastes good with literally everything. Toss it with pasta or veggie-noodles, spread it on toast, use it as a dip or as a salad dressing!

Super-Green Pesto

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag of organic baby spinach
  • 2 cups of fresh basil
  • 5 tbsp hemp hearts
  • 4 tbsp flaxseed cooking oil
  • 4 cloves of fresh garlic
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • A handful of fresh cilantro
  • 2 tbsp of Super 5 grass juice powder or Probiotic Super Greens with Turmeric
  • Salt and pepper to taste!

Method:

  1. Using a food processor, combine all of the ingredients until you reach your desired texture. Add lemon, salt and pepper to taste!
  2. Store in an airtight jar and refrigerate for up to a week

These crackers can be enjoyed with both sweet or savoury dips and spreads, and are delicious all on their own! + They're SO easy to make. 

Golden Quinoa Crackers:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sprouted quinoa
  • ¼ cup black sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp sprouted chia & flax
  • 1 tbsp turmeric latte with probiotics
  • 1-2 tsp turmeric powder
  • ¼ cup golden flaxseeds
  • 3 tbsp flaxseed cookin oil
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp ginger extract

Method:

  1. Mix the sprouted chia & flax with water, and let sit for 5 minutes or until it forms an egg like consistency
  2. Combine all of the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl
  3. Add the sprouted chia & flax ‘egg’ with the flaxseed cooking oil
  4. Combine your wet ingredients with your dry mixture
  5. Spread onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. You should make a thin even layer, about ½ a cm thick.
  6. Bake for roughly 20-30 minutes at 250°C, rotating the pan half way through
  7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before breaking into cracker sized pieces
  8. Store in an airtight jar OR reuse an empty Organic Traditions bag for an on-the-go snack!
